Defund Dakota Access: Jane Fonda’s #BankExit from Wells Fargo

On December 22, Jane Fonda announced her divesting of financial holdings from Wells Fargo, one of the major investors in the Dakota Access Pipeline, at the Hollywood Wells Fargo Branch. Despite the denial of the permits to drill and the calling for an Environmental Impact Statement by The Army Corp of Engineers, pipeline owners Energy Transfer Partners/Sunoco have continued to work in defiance of federal mandate on constructing the pipeline proposed to run under the Standing Rock Sioux’s water supply and through ancestral burial grounds.

Facing Trump, Protect California Coast From Offshore Fracking

Perhaps emboldened by the election of Trump, an oil company just applied for a permit to frack off the California coast — it’s the first application since the feds lifted a moratorium on the controversial process earlier this year. If the feds grant the permit, oil companies would soon begin fracking in the wildlife-rich Santa Barbara Channel — home to sea otters and endangered blue whales — putting our coasts and beaches at risk.

Los Angeles: Thousands Rally in National Protest Against Dakota Access Pipeline

SoCal Indigenous Peoples and Allies in Support of Standing Rock Called on President Obama on November 15 to Put a Permanent Stop to Pipeline Los Angeles, California — On November 15, thousands joined Southern California Indigenous Groups, Climate Action Organizations, Environmentalists, Political Activists, and Labor Groups in a nationwide day of action against the Dakota Access Pipeline, demonstrating in solidarity with water protectors in North Dakota at the Army Corps of Engineers office in Downtown Los Angeles, California.
